Mr. Benjamin F. Cato
Aiken, SC--Graveside services for Mr. Benjamin F. Cato age 83 will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday December 5, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC with Rev. Gene Wilson officiating. Mr. Cato entered into rest at his residence Saturday December 1, 2018. He was a native of Trenton, SC and had made Aiken County his home for most of his life. Mr. Cato was the beloved husband of 53 years to Mrs. Carolyn Farr Cato, Aiken and the son of the late Mr. Purvis Cato and the late Mrs. Minnie Douglas Cato. Mr. Cato was a retired heavy equipment operator for a number of companies in the Aiken County area. He was also very handy with his hands in wood working and general home maintenance. Mr. Cato enjoyed fishing and was a member of Central Baptist Church of Aiken. Additional survivors include his daughter Sherry (Tommy) Oglesby, Aiken, two step daughters, Linda (Richard) Stephens, Newnan, GA, Sandy Boehne, Newnan, GA; three sons, Wendall (Tina) Cato, Corydon, IN, Ronnie (Terry) Cato, Kentucky, Ronald (Carry) Cato, Maulden, SC, a step son, Charles Boehne Aiken, and five grandchildren. Mr. Cato was predeceased by one son, Allen Cato, three brothers, Harold, Marshall, and Albert Cato, one sister, Elizabeth Bedenbaugh, and one granddaughter. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
